Symptoms of ocular herpes cause of the drastic deterioration of dry eye. Ocular herpes tend to get 1) erythema (redness) 2) inflammation, 3) irritation 4), photophobia (light sensitivity) 5) pain. So I doubt that the symptoms of dry eyes are associated herpes.

EDIT: As a response to its output, causing dry eyes, these symptoms, but have these symptoms, I expect that the dry eye to be very serious. Most of the symptoms of dry eye is usually less severe than that, and the temporary use of eye lubricants meet. Again, I would be surprised if you eye herpes in the type of symptoms you have.
